Very powerful post! My husband and I call the day of the week that we use to discuss issues when they pop up "issue night". Each party is aware of the specific issue that will be discussed and we do limit it to one hour. This is very helpful as it takes a lot of the emotion out of the issue because it is not discussed "in the heat" of the moment. This allows the person who is upset about the issue to take some time and get their thoughts and emotions together before blasting their partner with the issue. It also allows the "offending" ( I use that term lightly) party to think about the issue their partner is going to bring to them, allowing them to come up with some solutions. This only works when both parties are coming to the table in a spirit of understanding and looking to resolve the issue. I am so happy for the both of you, this is a great work that you are doing!!!!
