Are Black Men FOR Monogamy?
VIDEO: We are all familiar with the stereotype that “all black men are dogs”. At the urging of a viewer we explore that notion and reveal that while some men may act a particular way…it certainly does not mean ALL men do. This black man wrote in and asked “How do we explain to black women that most black men are all for monogamous relationships?
We believe that there are a number of things that come into play when examining the perceptions that are out here around black men. However, with that being said the best way black men can continue to combat negative perceptions & stereotypes is through how they live their lives on a day to day basis. It’s how you carry yourself. It’s the kind of example you intentionally set for other young brothas. Actions always destroy words cause’ talk is cheap. It’ how you walk that will ultimately speak for you. Keep stepping strong black men. Keep stepping!

I think men in general are forced into monogamy, when the natural desire to enjoy other women are always present, they'd merely have to walk down the street and someone will pop up that they would like to have sex with. I think people can be happy, even madly in love with there spouse and still want a new lover for the excitement

I may be wrong but? I understood the point of the statistics of black women getting married decreased, while black men increased is because they are deciding to marry outside of our our race. Because if black men where marrying black women logically the statistics would increase for both.

thats not necessarily true. women of all races do that, not just black women. ur stereotyping black women, something that this article was speaking about not doing to black men. so if u stereotype us, dont get angry at stereotypes of yall. i believe everyone is different regardless of race. its how u were raised and how u chose to live ur life and what u look for in a partner. ur very stereotypical. grow up.
As a young black man, I find there is a cycle that needs to broken in order for some of our sistas to realize their value and attract a brother with similar values. My fiancé, an immaculate black woman, almost past me up in the beginning of our relationship because of what she was "used" to when dealing with black men. It was an honer for me to model what a loving, caring, and passionate black man is by showing her respect, including her in my life, and being open & honest to her. We do exist 🙂
